Give yourself a High-5!
Every weekday that ends in a five (February 25, March 5, March 25, and so on), your Off-Campus team is ready for a day of fun! In the morning (7:30-10am) we are in Lot A with free coffee, hot chocolate, treats, and of course high-fives! During the afternoon, we have programming events in the JC Atrium (usually 12-1pm). We’ve had awesome programs from Top Chef Mike Isabella’s cooking class to Cash Attack game shows where students can earn over $100 for participating! We wrap up each High-5 with our evening session (3-6pm) with more sweet treats and high-fives!
We’ve had a busy week here at Off-Campus Programs and Services. This past Monday, February 3rd was our annual Groundhog’s Day Breakfast where we had over 100 off-campus students, faculty, and staff come together over drinks, pancakes, and sausages. Of course our friend Georgia the Groundhog made an entrance, as well! The breakfast was a great opportunity for off-campus students to socialize, network, and enjoy a warm meal on a rainy Monday morning. Freshman Farah Elherazy said, “[The Groundhog’s Day Breakfast] helped me connect with other off-campus students as well as Mason faculty. It was a great way of feeling more intertwined with the Mason campus. It gave me a great start to my morning!”
Yesterday, February 5th, was our first High-5 of the semester. Unfortunately we had to cancel the morning High-5 due to the predicted freezing rain, but that did not stop us! We had an excellent afternoon LOLing with the DC Improv Comedy Club, later arriving to the front of Lot K in full force, hot chocolate, raspberry tarts, and high-fives in hand! It was great to see familiar faces and partner with our great friends at the LEAD office and the Office of Student Involvement.
And here’s where you can get excited for what’s coming up next: February 18th we will have our Fast Break at Prince William campus, High-5 style! For our February 25th High-5, we are teaming up with Parking and Dining services along with our afternoon Pop Culture game show! More information on those events can be found here.
Stay [green and] golden!
