During the summer, many college students want to get away from their homes for a few days to a few weeks to set out and explore the world. However, the biggest challenge for college students is finding the money for travel. Here are some budget-friendly options for college students:
- Take a road trip!
Not only are road trips much more affordable, but they also allow for more spontaneity.
- Go backpacking!
Backpacking is one of the most fun and economical ways to vacation. In order to begin your backpacking adventuring, you will need to choose an appropriate destination, join a small group, and gather your gear.
- Take a flight nearby!
Plane fares can be expensive but flying within North America can be very affordable. If you can score a cheap flight and cheap Airbnb, you can travel across the country and experience something new. Some places you can consider are Quebec City, Montreal, Vancouver, California, etc.
- Go camping!
A camping trip can be therapeutic and cost-efficient. Pick a location and pitch a tent!
- Couch surfing!
Hotels can be very costly so try couch surfing. You have to be careful but it helps cut down travel costs and lets you meet interesting people.
Having an awesome summer without breaking the bank really isn’t out of the realm of possibility so start your research and get out there. In the following weeks, I will be posting more about camping and backpacking, so look out for those!
