It’s the second week already? With last week’s snow vortex, professors are trying to catch up on missed time to keep students on schedule. It can be overwhelming to get back in the groove of a new semester after such a long break. As an off-campus student, you are juggling many responsibilities ranging from chores at home, your social life on campus, extracurricular activities, work, and more. Your friends at Mason Off Campus invite you to a morning of delicious breakfast, warm conversations, and an environment to relax at our annual Groundhog’s Day breakfast next Monday, February 3rd between 8am-10:30am in the JC Georges Café.
Having anxiety about upcoming assignments? Need someone to talk to? One of the awesome services we have on campus is Counseling and Psychological Services located in SUB 1, Room 3129. At times college can be overwhelming and having someone to talk to is extremely important in times of stress. Student can talk to counselors regarding academic goal planning, managing feelings, and family relationships, to name a few. This service is completely free to Mason students and it would be a shame not to take advantage of this opportunity when you are feeling stressed.
In addition to counseling appointments CAPS also has the Peer Empowerment Program. If you enjoy helping your friends through a problem and feel comfortable in being able to help someone through difficulty, then PEP is for you! To support Mason’s diverse community PEP provides workshops, educational programming and support programs. More information can be found at here.
As the semester begins we wish you the best of luck! We have so many programs for you this semester and you can find more information on our social media sites. Befriend us on Facebook. Add us on Instagram. Follow us on Twitter.
